Starting January 20th, the waters of the famous Los Sueños Marina will be filled with anglers ready to cash in on the most highly anticipated sport fishing event in Costa Rica. The first leg of the 2016 Los Sueños Triple Crown Billfish Tournament kicks off in Costa Rica where teams will compete for a $100,000 grand prize for the Series Champion.
In 2014 the Los Sueños Signature Triple Crown billfish tournament was introduced after the success of the Los Sueños Signature Billfish Series for 10 consecutive years. The first year was a huge success that solidified Los Sueños’ place as the billfish capital of the world. In 2014, 5,078 billfish were released during 9 days, breaking all previous Los Sueños tournament records. And in 2015, all previous records at Los Sueños were shattered when an average of 39 teams released a total of 5,732 billfish over the same nine days of fishing.
This year at the Los Sueños Triple Crown, anglers will compete in an exclusive catch and release format as they strive to top the past two record-setting years and win the grand prize.

In order to facilitate long-term planning, the tournaments will be held the same weeks each year with the exception of 2016, where the third leg was moved one week to avoid overlapping with Holy Week (Semana Santa).

• 7 pm. Scorecards must be submitted to Scoring Committe
