The Costa Rica News (TCRN) – Costa Rica has one of the best passports for travel to other Latin American destinations without a visa. This is reported by the last index conducted by the international consulting firm Henley & Partners with the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
The country is number seven in Latin America and 31st in the world. The Costa Rican passport got a score of 122 while Finland, the best, got 173.
“This world ranking of countries is measured according to travel freedom that their citizens enjoy. Henley & Partners analyzed the visa regulations of all countries and territories worldwide and created an index that ranks countries according to visa-free access its citizens enjoy in other countries,” says the study.
The countries with the best ranked passports, apart from Finland, are the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg and the United States.
For traveling in Latin America, the list is led by Argentina, followed by Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Uruguay. In Central America, Costa Rica is the country that is best positioned followed by Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua.
The list of the worst countries with barriers to travel outside its borders is composed of Afghanistan, in last place at the 93rd position with a score of 28, Iraq and Pakistan in 92nd and 93rd.
